The great food and wine festival with the Empordà stamp in the city of Barcelona.
20 restaurants from the La Cuina de l’Empordanet collective and 21 wineries from the Denomination of Origin Empordà come together to create a joint, unique and unrepeatable food and wine experience in the city of Barcelona.
Hotel Havana in Barcelona hosts on Thursdays May 16, May 23, and May 30 this food and wine proposal devised by Cuina de l’Empordanet and DO Empordà under the B de l’Empordà project.
Every day 7 restaurants prepare a star dish that harmonizes with different DO Empordà wines. Chefs and winemakers will come down to live the experience and share it with the entire audience.
El Roser 2, Mas dels Arcs, Casamar, La Plaça, Aradi, Vicus, Terramar, Aquamare, Es Portal, La Xicra, La Calèndula, Hotel Aigua blava, Els Tinars, La Blanca, Sa Punta i Aurum, Mas de Torrent, SA Cova and Bo.TiC together with Hotel Havana Barcelona – space that hosts the festival – are the protagonist restaurants of this first edition of the food and wine festival, Caràcter Empordà. Each of them has prepared a 100% Empordà dish with the aim of creating a choral, 7-course menu inspired by the best products from the sea and mountain gastronomy of the Empordà.
To complement the gastronomic proposal, each dish has been harmonized with a DO Empordà wine. There are 22 wineries selected in this first edition: Gerisena, Pujol Cargol, *lavinyeta, Pere Guardiola, Perelada, Mas Llunes, Vinyes dels Aspres, Cellers d’en Guilla, Mas Pòlit, Espolla, Masia Serra, Martín Faixó, Espelt Viticultors , Mas Vida, Martí Fabra, Vinyes d’Olivardots, Bodegas Trobat, Mas Oller, Clos d’Agon, Empordàlia, Hugas de Batlle and Oliveda.
The festival will take place on 3 Thursdays in May: 16, 23 and 30 at the Hotel Havana Barcelona. Arrival time is at 8.30pm at the hotel reception. The price of these pairing dinners is €60 and the reservation is made through the hotel itself.
This initiative arises from the collaboration of Cuina de l’Empordanet and DO Empordà through the B de l’Empordà project. A project that started last year in Barcelona with the aim of making known and spreading the wine culture of the Empordà in the county city.
